Robert Shreve

Robert Okie Shreve, 84, of Oakland, passed away on September 20, 2024, at Oakland Nursing and Rehabillitation Center. Born on December 17, 1939, in Oakland, he was the son of the late Arnold and Blanch (Cosner) Shreve.

Robert attended Southern High School, after which he enlisted in the United States Army. He was a skilled carpenter and concrete mason. He attended the Shady Dell Chapel. He enjoyed listening to gospel music, working on his vehicles, and sitting on the porch waiting on the school bus.

He is survived by his son, Christopher Shreve and wife Bridget of Oakland; two grandchildren, Diana Shreve and Brittany Moore; a great grandchild, Huntleigh Moore; two siblings, Gary Duff and Jane Duff; and a special brother in law, Richard Dodge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Loretta (Dodge) Shreve; three brothers, Mayo Shreve, Bill Shreve, and Johnny Duff; and two special cousins, Ervin Shreve and Wilma Shreve.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 11 AM to 12 noon at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. Second St., Oakland. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon in the funeral home with Pastor Don Uphold officiating.
