Robert Ludwig

Robert Eugene Ludwig, Jr., 59, of Oakland, died on May 20, 2024, as the result of a boating accident. Born on October 27, 1964, in Oakland, he was the son of the late Robert Eugene Ludwig, Sr., and Dorothy Ann (Baker) Ludwig, who survives.

Rob was a graduate of Southern High School. He served our country in the United States Army National Guard. Growing up, Rob worked alongside his father at Sisler Lumber Company and later pursued a career as a log truck driver with the same company. Transitioning into auto body repair, he started his own business, Rob's Auto Body Shop, where his craftsmanship and welcoming demeanor left a lasting impact on all who knew him. Rob's dedication to his family, work, and his passion for hunting and fishing will be remembered by all.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Loriann D. (Knotts) Ludwig, to whom he was married on June 23, 1986; two sons, Derek Ludwig and fiance Kristen Baker and Jesse Ludwig and partner Natasha Friend; three grandchildren, Ryder, Elena, and River; two sisters, Tammy Baughcum and husband Bill and Carol Johnson and husband Joe; a sister in law, BJ Ludwig; six nieces and nephews, Jason, Brandi, Kristi, Cody, Corey, and Kaylee.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death two brothers, Charlie and Anthony Ludwig.

Friends will be received on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 4 to 7 PM at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. Second St., Oakland. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 11 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Marty Wilt officating. Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery.
