Robert Lawrence

Robert David Lawrence departed this life on July 11, 2013 at his Springfield, VA home.

Robert was born on November 8, 1931 inHambleton, WV to George and Greta Lawrence.
On December 4, 1954 he married Marjorie (Cooper) Lawrence, who survives in Springfield, VA.
Robert is also survived by his two children, Debi Wilson of Arlington, VA and Kevin (Debbie) Lawrence of Harman, WV. Also surviving are four grandchildren Kristy Lawrence of West Palm Beach, Travis Lawrence of Harman, Lauren and Blake Wilson of Arlington. Also one brother Carl Lawrence of Springfield, sister Betty (Dice) Bennett of Hambleton, and sister-in-law Ann Lawrence of Hambleton.
Preceding him in death was his brother Charles Lawrence.
Robert spent his childhood and graduated high school in Tucker County. He joined the Army in 1952. After returning home from the service, he moved to the Washington, DC area where he studied at the Emerson Institute and went to work for the Department of Navy as an Engineer at Carderock Division where he retired in 1993.
Robert enjoyed spending time with his friends and family as well as on the farm in Harman. He also enjoyed traveling the world especially taking cruises with his wife. Robert will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends at the Harman Church of the Brethren on Sunday July 14, 2013 from 5pm-8pm. Funeral service will also be held at the Harman Church of the Brethren on Monday July 15, 2013 at 11am. He will be laid to rest on the family farm cemetery.
