Robert Eugene Johnson, Sr., 73, Swanton, MD, passed away Monday, March 21, 2011 at Garrett Memorial Hospital.
Born March 8, 1938 in Indian Head, PA, he was the son of the late John Albert and Avis Lucille (Hutchinson) Johnson. He was also preceded in death by brothers, William, Jerry and James Johnson.
Bob was veteran having served in the United States Army, retired from the Garrett County Board of Education Food Service Department and a member of the Kitzmiller Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are: wife-Sandra (Tasker) Johnson; son-Robert Eugene Johnson, Jr., Kitzmiller, MD; daughter-Tammy K. Whitacre and husband, Bill, Kitzmiller, MD; sister-Louise Hall and husband Butch, Connellsville, PA; grandchildren-Robert Eugene Johnson, III, William Whitacre, Jr., Richard Paul Johnson, Bryan Scott Whitacre and Brittany Ann Starr Johnson and great grandchild-Robert Eugene Johnson, IV..
Family and friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 710 Church Street, Kitzmiller, Tuesday, March 22, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2011 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Lee Robertson officiating.
Internment will be the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
