Rita Mae Likins, 73, of Oakland died on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Ruby Memorial Hospice in Morgantown. Born on November 2, 1945, in Deer Park, she was the daughter of the late Harrison M. and Elizabeth (Mayle) Thrasher. Rita was a paper carrier for the Cumberland Times-News for many years and, later, worked for Bausch and Lomb in Oakland. In addition to spending time with her family, she enjoyed bowling and playing bingo. She is survived by her husband, William Grant Likins; a son, Joe Likins and wife Kim; grandchildren, Jay Likins and girlfriend Kristi, Scott Livengood and wife Kaylee, and Lindsey Livengood; a great granddaughter, Madi Livengood and another on the way in June 2019; a sister, Katie Kight and husband Rick of Cumberland; two brothers, Bob Thrasher and wife Bev of Deer Park and Harris “Bud” Thrasher and fiancée Tammy of Greensboro, NC; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jackie Wilson. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2ndSt., Oakland on Saturday, December 1, 2018, from 11 AM to 1 PM after which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Barbara Rexroad officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Oakland Nursing and Rehab, Activities Dept., 706 E Alder St., Oakland, MD 21550.
