Ricky Skeweris

Ricky J. Skeweris, age 64, of Hagerstown passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021 at his residence.  He was born on March 20, 1957 in Oakland to the late Isadore J. and Mayjel E. (Lewis) Skeweris.

Rick was a graduate of Southern High School, Class of 1975.  He continued his education at Garrett College and Dupree College of Management- Georgia Tech.  Rick had been employed as an information technology architect and most recently, as an independent insurance broker/agent.  He also owned and operated Appalachian Smokehouse.  His true passion was his family and his friends who he considered family.  His kind and jovial nature led to his love of entertaining, cooking, barbecuing, and smoking meats for everyone to eat.  No one left without a full belly when he was cooking.  He also enjoyed camping at Wapocoma Campground in Romney, WV.

Rick is survived by his wife Barbara (Mayle) Skeweris; four children, Donald Dintaman, Jr., Erin Dintaman, Rebecca Haines and husband Shawn; Caitlyn Skeweris and fiancée Brent Bowles, all of Hagerstown; six grandchildren, Donald Dintaman III, Elizabeth Dintaman, Laurel Dintaman, Christian Henson, Matthew Henson, Molly Haines; one granddog, Dude Skeweris; three brothers, Gary Skeweris and wife Linda, Dennis Skeweris and wife Anna, all of Oakland, Tom Skeweris and wife Michelle of Bessmer, PA; several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM at which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Carl Fike officiating.  Interment will be held in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
