Richard Boice, "Rich" Markley, 77, of Centerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2017, at Southview Medical Center. Richard was born on June 25, 1939 in Hutton, Maryland to parents Paul Andrew and Roberta Boice Markley, and was one of seven children. Richard began working for NCR in Maryland at the age of 18 as a field technician when he met and married Wilma Warnick. He was transferred to Dayton in 1968 where he became an instructor and later became a project manager. NCR is where he developed many cherished relationships, near and far, over his 38 years of employment. Richard was happily married to Wilma for almost 40 years. They shared a storybook marriage in Centerville, Ohio, where neighbors and friends became extended family. Richard had an intuitive nature to fix things and had a love for fishing, camping, family vacations, and spending time with his beloved Wilma. He is survived by his two children, Michael Wayne Markley and wife Darcelle and Vonda Kay Sherrets and husband Carl; a grandson, Michael William Markley; and siblings, Bobbie Kingsley, Mitzi Dunn, Lucille Meredith and Roger Markley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Wilma (Warnick) Markley, in 2001 and siblings, Lois Jennings and Paul A. Markley, Jr. A funeral service will be held at the C & S FREDLOCK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Saturday, February 4th at 11 AM with Pastor Matthew A. Paugh officiating. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Taylor-Sines Cemetery.
