Richard Lantz

Richard Keith Lantz, 81, of Mt. Lake Park died on Friday, August 1, 2014 at the Garrett County Memorial Hospital. Born on November 15, 1932, he was the son of the late Oscar M. and Viola E. (Harper) Lantz. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Korean War and was a truck driver who spent a number of years driving for the United States Postal Service in Oakland. He was a long-time member of the Loch Lynn Church of God and he, along with his wife, spent much of his time ministering through music and entertaining at the local nursing homes. Richard loved Jesus Christ and lived his life for the Lord. He is survived by his loving wife, Marion L. (Knotts) Lantz; his children, Allen R. Lantz and wife Becky and Linda Frechette, all of Wooster, OH; grandchildren, Fallon Stoner and husband Dustin, and Bryan Lantz; great granddaughter, Madison Noffsinger; a brother, Ronald Lantz and wife Janet of Ridgeley, WV; a sister, Donna Duley and husband Willie of Arthurdale, WV; a brother in law, Buck Knotts; and a sister in law, Jean Blamble. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Monday, August 4th from 10 AM to 12 Noon after which a funeral service will be held with Pastors Ivan and Cindy Ackerman officiating. Interment will follow in the Accident Community Cemetery, Eglon, WV with military honors accorded by the Deer Post VFW Post 10077 and Oakland American Legion Proctor Kildow Post 71.
