Richard Elwood Jordan, 63, Mt. Lake Park, MD, passed away August 7, 2011 at his residence.

Born January 11, 1948 Ben Busch, WV, he was the son of Elsie Jordan Skipper and husband Patrick. He is also preceded in death by his grandparents-Parker and Hallie Jordon, granddaughter- Kassandra Lynn and son-in-law-Walter Fike.

Richard was a United States Army Veteran having served in Viet Nam and receiving the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a retired truck drive, the Quartermaster of the VFW Post 10077, member of Oakland American Legion Post 71, Purple Heart Club, Viet Nam Veterans-Cumberland and New Beginning Church.

Surviving are: wife- Marietta (Mary) Welch Jordan; three daughters, Elizabeth Cervi and husband Eugene, McHenry, MD, Sherri Jordan and fiancAC.e-Willy Lucas, Kitzmiller, MD, Laura Bennett and husband Brian, Terra Alta, WV; brothers-Timothy Skipper, Oakland, MD and Thomas Skipper, Mt. Lake Park, MD; grandchildren-six and step-grandchildren-five.

Family and friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. 2nd Street, Oakland, MD, Monday, August 8, 2011 from 2 -4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2011, 11 a.m. at Mt. Top Christian Assembly, Mt. Lake Park, MD with Rev Russell Liller officiating.

Interment will be in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be accorded at the graveside by local Veteran's Organizations.
