Retha Johnson

Retha D. Johnson, 76, of Horseshoe Run, WV, went home with our Lord on March 24, 2023, at Brighton Rehab and Wellness Center in Beaver, PA.

Born on May 7, 1946, in Irwin, WV, she was the daughter of the late Dayton A. and Margie V. Moats.

Retha was a 1964 graduate of Aurora High School. She was a member of the Brookside Church in Aurora, WV. Retha worked as a seamstress for Terra Alta Garment and at Mt. Lake Park. She was also a food service worker at The Smokehouse at Blackwater Falls.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two daughters, Teri Scinocca and Toni Milo and three siblings, Linda Bell, Stanley Moats and Maxine Moats.

She is survived by her children James Johnson, Jr. (Flavia) of Brazil, South America and Leeanna Kirkland (Gerald) of Beaver Falls, PA. She has two grandchildren. Joshua Johnson and Kayden Kirkland. She has one brother, Lonnie Moats, Horseshoe Run, WV and two sisters, Carol Pitts, of Farmington WV and Joanne Smith, of Oakland, MD.

There are no services to be held, interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.
