Regina Newlin

Regina Sherwood Newlin, 89, formerly of Kitzmiller, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018 at the Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born on April 16, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Richard E. and Clementine (Paugh) Sherwood. Regina was a devoted homemaker. She loved spending time with and caring for her family. Several fond memories were made in the kitchen with Regina cooking, making taffy or working puzzles. She enjoyed collecting bells and dolls. She was a wonderful Mom.  Regina is survived by her children, Raymond Sherwood and wife Audrey of Oakland, Marlin “Buckwheat” Sherwood of Kitzmiller, and Calvin Sherwood and wife Cindy of Kitzmiller; grandchildren, Raymond Sherwood and wife Megan, Rebecca Rodeheaver and husband Scott, Amy Jo Parks and husband B.J., Christy Conner and husband Kevin, T.J. Cross and Dawn Cross; eleven great grandchildren; a sister, Helen Berg and husband Therman; a brother, William Sherwood, Sr. and wife Brenda; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William F. “Bill” Newlin; and three siblings, Larry Sherwood, Arlena McRobie and Richard Sherwood, Sr.  Friends will be received at the C & S FREDLOCK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 710 Church Street, Kitzmiller, MD on Monday, February 12, 2018 from 5-8 PM and again on Tuesday, February 13 from 10-11 AM at which time a funeral service will be officiated by Rev. Lee Robertson. Interment will follow in Kalbaugh Cemetery. Regina’s family would like to thank the staff at Oakland Nursing and Rehab for the wonderful care given to their Mother.
