Ray Homer Ridder, 92 of Oakland, MD, passed away November 29, 2010 at his residence.
Born January 17, 1918 in Oakland, MD, he was the son of the late Ernest R. and Sarah D. (Baker) Ridder. Ray was also preceded in death by brothers, Wilbert (Pete) Ridder, Archie Ridder and Carl Ridder; sisters, Blanche Helbig, Ailene Harvey and Lucille Novak; granddaughter, Abigale Christina Ridder.
Ray was a retired diary farmer and a life-long member of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church of Red House.
Surviving are: wife of sixty-seven years, Claretta (Lloyd) Ridder; sons, Richard Ridder and wife, Paula, New Creek, WV and Thomas Ridder and wife, Joyce, Oakland, MD; daughter, Jean Grieser and husband, Thomas, Virginia Beach, VA; sisters, Ruth Jackson, Grantsville, MD and Ethel ( Ridder) Cosner, Oakland, MD; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. 2nd St, Oakland, MD, Wednesday, December 1, 2010 from 5-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 2010 at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church of Red House, 3301 Garrett Highway, Oakland, MD 21550, with the Rev. Sally Bartling officiating.
Interment will be St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery.
