Randall Kahl

Randall Robert Kahl, 86, of Deer Park, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at the Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on February 1, 1933 in Accident, he was the son of the late Peter and Ada (Wiley) Kahl. Randall proudly served in the United States Air Force. Upon returning home, he immediately went to work for Westvaco Fine Papers, Luke, MD Mill. He retired from his career in paper manufacturing after 39 1/2 years of service. Randall was a member of the American Legion Post #71 and V.F.W. Post #10077. He was a member of the combine funeral honor guard honoring hundreds of soldiers throughout the years. He and his family worshiped at Deer Park United Methodist Church. Randall loved the history of our area and was a very knowledgeable member of the Garrett County Historical Society. He loved spending time outdoors working in his prized flower garden and enjoyed the company of the wild birds. Randall is survived by his bride of 63 years, Martha L. (Wood) Kahl; five nephews; and one great nephew and all of their families. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 from 4-7 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 11 AM with Pastor Barbara Rexroad officiating. Interment will be held in Deer Park Cemetery with military honors accorded by the combined honor guard from American Legion Post #71, V.F.W. Post #10077 and the United States Air Force.
