Randall Ashby

Randall (Randy) Glenn Ashby, 62, of Oakland, MD, passed away Wednesday, October 13th, 2021, at his home. Born January 4th, 1959, in Essex, MD, he was the son of Josephine E. (Fike) Ashby and the late William G. Ashby.


Randy was self-employed through Ashby Fire Equipment until his retirement. He loved riding his Harley and his side-by-side, going camping, hanging with "The River Gang", sitting by the fire, and playing cards. He also enjoyed vacationing with his River Gang family. Randy never met a stranger and was always the life of any get-together. He was loved by many and will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marcia Annette (Wolf) Ashby; one brother, Stephen W. Ashby of Hagerstown, MD; one sister, Cheryl L. Fint and husband Joe of Oakland; his in-laws Fredolen Jr. and Amelia Wolf of Oakland; brother in-law Lee Wolf and Sue of Swanton; sister-in-law Rebecca Sines and husband Mel of Oakland; 3 nephews; Chris Remley and wife Kacey; Chad Remley and Heather, and Brian Ashby. Randy was also survived by 5 nieces, Lori Taylor and husband AJ of Hagerstown, MD; Chelsea Maust and husband Darwin of Bruceton Mills, WV; Chanda Robinson and husband Tim of Burke, VA; Jordyn Sines and Critter of Oakland, MD; Leslie Rinker and husband Keith of Oakland, MD; as well as 8 great-nieces and 8 great-nephews. He is also survived by his dear friends known as "The River Gang" and by his K-9 companion, Harley.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his friend, Greg Wotring.

Friends will be received Monday October 18, 2021, at Loch Lynn Church of God from 4 - 8 PM. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 19th, 2021, at Loch Lynn Church of God with Pastor Sam Moon officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
