Priscilla Dean Bell, 93, of Oakland died on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home. Born on August 31, 1921 in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late David and Alice (Kisner) Collins. She was a long-time cook at Dennett Road Manor whose recipes are still being used today. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and traveling by bus with senior citizens groups. She is survived by her daughter, LaVerna "Cookie" Evans and husband Theodore D. Evans of Oakland; three grandchildren, Lisa Brenneman and husband Jim, Ted Evans and wife Sherri and Craig Evans and wife Caroline, all of Red House; six great grandchildren, Stephanie Pifer, Sarah Brenneman, Theodore Evans III, Jonathon Evans, Trenton Evans and Mara Evans. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Floyd H. Shaffer and her second husband, Fred A. Bell; she was the last surviving of the 13 children in her family. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Saturday, January 31st from 10 AM to 12 Noon after which time a funeral service will be held with Rev. Donald Matthews officiating. Interment will be in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home Activities Dept., 1113 Mary Dr., Oakland, MD 21550.
