Pollyanna Stottlemeyer

Pollyanna (King) Stottlemeyer, 87, of Mtn. Lake Park passed away January 15, 2012, at the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home. Pollyanna was born November 10, 1924 in Albright, WV the daughter of the late Herbert "Peck" Woodell King and Anna "Honey" Agnes (Puffenbarger) King. She was a cook at Maidsville School in West Virginia and the Loch Lynn Restaurant. Polly also worked for Montgomery Ward's and had retired from Bausch & Lomb. Polly's wisdom and kindness will be sadly missed, as she was the rock of her immediate and extended family. She was small in stature but was big in heart and personality. Polly was always happiest surrounded by her family. She is survived by two daughters, Jeannie Landon and husband Ed and Sheila Mahaffey and husband Scott; four grandchildren, Robin Clutter and husband Dave, Amy Landon Thomas, Doug Landon, and Megan Hamerski and husband Ryan; great grandchildren, Jeffery Landon, Ryan Freeman, Skylar Freeman, Lexi Thomas and Hadlye Hamerski; great, great grandson Jeffery Landon; siblings, Betty Fulford, Arlene Ansell, John King, Cathy Laskosky and Linda Stover; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Elwood Stottlemeyer in January 1959; sisters, Connie Sweeney, Ruth Greenwood, Mary Jane Hume, and Norma Richmond; and brother, Herbert King Jr. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
