Phillip Raymond Wotring, 51, of Oakland died on Sunday, March 12, 2017, at Dennett Road Manor. Born on October 8, 1965, in Oakland, he was the son of Darrell Malcolm and Ethel Faye (Whitacre) Wotring of Oakland. Phillip was a graduate of Southern High School Class of 1987. He loved his work and took pride in his jobs, having worked at Appalachian Crossroads since graduation. He was a member of the Loch Lynn Church of God and Boy Scouts of America and enjoyed participating in Special Olympics and bowling every week for the Appalachian Crossroads bowling team. In his spare time, he liked fishing and listening to country music. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his special aunt, Margaret Sanders of Oakland; aunt, Dorothy Sines of Oakland; uncles, Clarence Whitacre of Deer Park and Herbert Whitacre and wife Patty of Kitzmiller; and a special cousin, Lisa Devier of Red House. Friends will be received at the C & S FREDLOCK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Wednesday, March 15th from 5 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, March 16th at 11 AM with Pastor Ivan Ackerman and Pastor Chad Reese officiating. Interment will be in Deer Park Cemetery.
