Paula Annette Hood , 55, of Walkersville, MD, passed away Friday, July 15, 2011, at her home in Walkersville, with her husband and mother by her side.
She was born January 18, 1956, in Morgantown, WV, a daughter of the late George W. and Virginia B. Hovatter Mayor, who survives . She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Hood. On May 22, 2011 she married Christopher Rivard . She is survived by her husband Chris, mother Virginia, 3 brothers, David (Fran) Mayor, Doug (Valerie) Mayor and Donny (Barbara) Mayor, 1 sister Roxanne (David) Kreh and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Paula graduated from Wheaton High School in 1974. She was employed for several years as a Neon Technician at Alpha Design in Frederick, MD. For the past 11 years she worked at Appalachian Tree Co. as the office manger. Paula loved working on hand crafts, studying her Bible and visiting, especially with family.Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home Tuesday July 19, 2011 from 6 P.M to 8 P.M. Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 20, 2011 in the Hinkle Funeral Chapel at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Mark Joseph officiating. Interment to follow in Arthurdale Cemetery with graveside committal services at 3:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Paula's memory to The Canaan Valley Baptist Church, P.O. Box 308, Davis, WV 26260.
