Paul Messina

Paul A. Messina, age 73, of Terra Alta, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021 at his residence.

Born on September 16,1947, in Baltimore, MD, he is precede in death by his parents Salvatore and Carmela Messina and his son, Paul Messina Jr.

Paul proudly served his country in the United States Army in Germany and the Vietnam War.  He received numerous awards and medals. One being the Purple Heart.

Paul was a very intelligent man and was gifted in many ways.

He was a lineman, trouble shooter, and supervisor of Power Plants on the West Coast.

He returned to this area and enjoyed the peace and solitude of living in rural West Virginia.

He was Catholic and dedicated to His Faith. He attended St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Terra Alta.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 1204 East State Avenue, Terra Alta, WV 26764 with Fr. Arokia Dass officiating.  Private interment will be held at a later date.

Special thanks to his caregivers Juanita and Rusty Clark, and Chaplain Wendy, and the Hospice Team. Also thanks to his Alpine Community of friends and neighbors for all their support.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 1204 East State Avenue, Terra Alta, WV 26764.
