Paul Benton Everly, 71, of Mt. Lake Park, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at his residence. Born on August 9, 1948 in Connellsville, PA, he was the son of the late Carl H. and Nettie E. (Culver) Everly. Paul proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was the founder and sole proprietor of EZ Excavating. Paul was very active in serving his community through various organizations. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #10077, and a member of Proctor Kildow American Legion Post #71, Cumberland VVA Chapter #172, Marine Corps League, Deer Park Sportman’s Club, Oakland Elks Lodge #2481 and ABATE. His hobbies included spending time outdoors fishing, boating, snowmobiling and four wheeling. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and Steeler Football on television. Paul is survived by his fiancée, Lisa E. Sweitzer; two sons, Tim Everly of Westernport and Carl William Everly and fiancée Christy of Gormania; three grandchildren, Corey, Daphne Charlotte and Deanna. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 11 AM with Pastor Barbara Rexroad officiating. Interment, with military honors, will be held in Garrett County Memorial Gardens. A special thank you to his Marine Corps brother, John Gnegy for his friendship and support. Memorial contributions may be directed to a military charity or organization of your choice.
