Paul Eary

Paul Allen Eary, 86, of Oakland passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at his home. Born on May 28, 1927 in Chillicothe, OH, he was the son of the late William Henry and Ada (Lewis) Eary. Most of Paul's younger years were spent in the Preston and Garrett county areas. He was a graduate of Terra Alta High School and Morris Harvey College in Charleston, WV. He taught school in Garrett County and later worked for the Department of Social Services. He was also a self-employed wood worker who spent several years designing and building grandfather clocks and enjoyed listening to sacred music as well as growing and arranging flowers. Paul was a member of the Lake Ford and Faith United Methodist churches and Gideons International. He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Alice Ann (Feather) Eary; a son, Matthew Eary and wife Lindy; a daughter, Lisa Sweitzer; three grandchildren, Franky, Beth and Paul; and two great grandchildren, Riley and Delaney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Thursday, August 15th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, August 16th at 11 AM with Rev. Ross Glotfelty officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Ford Cemetery, Cranesville.
