Patricia McBee

Patricia Gwen "Pat" McBee, 77, of Oakland went to her heavenly home to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. Born on January 14, 1939 in Crellin, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Willard and Esther (Hollis) DeWitt. She was a graduate of Southern High School and had served as the Treasurer for the class of 1957. Pat retired from the Garrett County Board of Education as a Teacher's Assistant, having worked for over 20 years. She was a devoted and active member of the Crellin United Brethren in Christ church serving as both Sunday School Secretary and Chairperson of the Hospitality Commission. She was also active in the senior citizens program at the Mary Browning Center. Pat loved spending time with her family, especially her treasured granddaughters, Brianna and Bethany, and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, James "Leo" McBee; a daughter, Gwen Evans and husband Mel of Oakland; two grandchildren, Brianna and Bethany Evans; a sister, Cosette Harman and husband Edgar of Oakland; a brother, Allan DeWitt and wife Thelma of Terra Alta, WV; nephew, Jarrod White; niece, Allison White; mother in law, Evalyn McBee; and brother in law, Kenneth McBee as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy McBee. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Sunday, May 22nd from 6 to 9 PM and in the Crellin United Brethren in Christ Church on Monday, May 23rd from 12 to 1 PM after which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Ed Calhoun officiating. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Southern Rescue Squad, PO Box 378, Oakland, MD 21550 or Crellin United Brethren in Christ, 65 Otterbein St., Oakland, MD 21550.
