Osborne C. "Jack" Tasker, 72, of Harper's Ferry, WV and formerly of Swanton, died on Friday, April 21, 2017, at his home. Born on December 20, 1944, in Keyser, he was the son of the late Osborne Wellington "Jack" and Gladys (Sharpless) Tasker. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and had retired, after working for a number of years, as a computer engineer for the United States Government. He was a faithful and dedicated member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Swanton, MD. He was also a member of the NRA, the Republican Party and Ham Radio Club. He is survived by two nephews, Clark A. Sharpless, Sr. and Martin Sharpless; special cousins, Randy Sharpless and Nancy Livengood; and numerous cousins and extended family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Sharpless and a brother, Curry Tasker. Friends will be received at the C & S FREDLOCK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 710 Church St., Kitzmiller on Tuesday, April 25th from 5 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 26th at 1 PM in the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with Pastor Gary Rankin officiating. Interment will follow in the Sharpless Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the combined honor guard of the American Legion Post #71 and the Deer Park VFW Post #10077. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, c/o Nellie Harvey, 283 Mt. Zion Rd., Swanton, MD 21561.
