Ora Edgar Ford, 81, of Canaan Valley, WV passed away at his home January 26, 2015.
He was born June 10, 1933 in Big Battle, WV a son of the late John Samuel and Gay Lilly Conwell Ford. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Currey Ford of 59 years. He is also survived by 2 sons, Gary Allen Ford, Lewisburg, WV and Greg (Darlene) Arlyn Ford, Manassas, VA, 3 daughters, Gwen Ann Nicholson, Salem, WV, Gayl Anitra (Randy) Campbell, St. Mary's, WV, and Barbara Ford, Lewisburg, WV, 9 grandchildren, Gary (Samantha) Ford, Ora Lawson Ford, Hamilton Lake Ford, Taylor Jane Ford, Kathleen Jeanne Ford, Barbara Lee Ford, Cassie Cole Ford, Kara (Brandon) Wright and Gabriel Campbell, 4 great grandchildren, and 5 step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 5 sisters; he was the last surviving member of his family.
Mr. Ford retired as a school administrator from Doddridge County Board of Education. He was a graduate of Salem University and West Virginia University. He lettered in football, basketball, and baseball at Salem University. He served in the Army National Guard during the Korean War.
