Norman Via

Rev. Norman S. "Sol" Via, 76, of Swanton went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at his home with family by his side. Born on November 28, 1939 in Mt. Storm, WV, he was the son of the late Norman B. and Louise (Thurston) Via. Had retired from the former Mead/Westvaco and had also served as Pastor of the Walnut Bottom Assembly of God for a number of years. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Patricia A. (Tichinel) Via; two daughters, Tammy J. Seminerio and husband Lorenzo of Frostburg and Melissa A. Evans and husband Allen W. Evans of Kitzmiller; grandchildren, Jessica Seminerio Grapes and husband Joshua, Dustin J. Evans and wife Angellee and Kayla A. Dolly and husband Aron; a brother, Jerry Via and wife Sharon of Keyser, WV; sisters, Joyce Oates of Baltimore, Sharon Paugh of Mt. Storm, WV, Sue Blizzard and husband Melvin of Keyser, WV and Donna Pancake and husband Charles of Keyser, WV; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Benny, Tom, Kerry and David Via; and four sisters, Betty Via Page, Shirley Via Aronhalt, June Via Pennington and Gloria Via Doll. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 710 Church St., Kitzmiller on Thursday, January 14th from 2 to 4 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Walnut Bottom Assembly of God on Friday, January 15th at 1 PM with Pastor George H. Tichinel officiating. Interment will be in the Turner Cemetery.
