Nora Knotts

Nora Isabellia Knotts, 95, of Kitzmiller passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home in Oakland. Born on April 9, 1920 in Hubbard, WV, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Thomas and Lillian (Oates) Dawson. She had worked at the former Cindy's Restaurant in Kitzmiller for many years and had attended the Kitzmiller Assembly of God. Mrs. Knotts enjoyed long drives in the country and spending time with her family. She is survived by two sons, John Knotts of Kitzmiller and Bill Green of Glenn Dale; two daughters, Marion Porter of El Dorado, TX and Mary Margaret Sullivan of Fredericksburg, VA; grandchildren, Beckie Sullivan, Vicki Farmer, Pamela Pinney, Lisa Huff, Amy Taylor, Renee Knotts, Shelly Sottile and Julie Delp; thirteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Glenn Knotts, in 1988; a daughter, Teresa Lynn Knotts; and her brothers and sisters as she was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 710 Church St., Kitzmiller on Wednesday, March 2nd from 4 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, March 3rd at 11 AM with Pastor Lee Robertson officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
