Nina Virginia Miller, 84, of Oakland died on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at her home. Born on January 24, 1932 in Accident, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Virginia (DeBerry) Lohr. She was a graduate of Oakland High School and Frostburg State University. She was a member of the Deep Creek Baptist Church. In addition to spending time with her family, she enjoyed gardening, birds, jigsaw puzzles and poetry. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Paul A. Miller; a son, Mark A. Miller and wife Carole of Accident; a daughter, Martha Downing and husband Dan of Livingston, MT; two grandsons, Travis Green and Brant Green, both of Deep Creek Lake; one sister, Margie Wakefield and husband Floyd "Buster" of Friendsville; and three brothers, Carl Lohr and P. Roger Lohr, both of Friendsville and Richard Lohr and wife Janet of Bergton, VA. According to her wishes, Nina was cremated and a memorial service will be held in the Deep Creek Baptist Church on Monday, May 9th at 10:30 AM with Pastor David Helton officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Deep Creek Baptist Church, 19841 Garrett Hwy., Oakland, MD 21550. The C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., Oakland is assisting the family with arrangements.
