Nellie Wolfe

Nellie May Wolfe, age 90, of Oakland, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at her residence. Born on December 4, 1929 in Newberg, WV, she was the daughter of the late Homer N. and Lena Neff.

Nellie grew up working on the family farm. Over the years, she was employed at Proudfoot’s Pharmacy Restaurant, Cuppett Weeks Nursing Home and Bausch and Lomb, but job she was most proud of was loving and raising her family. Nellie enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She loved traveling throughout the United States and special trips to visit her family. Nellie was a member at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church of Redhouse.

Nellie is survived by her husband of 66 years, Donald K. Wolfe; five children, Sandra Brining and husband David, Sheila Slaubaugh and husband Brad, Cindy Kelley and husband Charlie, Donald Wolfe, Jr. and wife Donna, Ralph Wolfe and wife Celine; 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Nellie was preceded in death by a great grandson, Quintin Kelly and four siblings.

A private family visitation was held on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, 21 N 2ndSt., Oakland from 11 AM to 1 PM. A graveside service immediately followed in the Redhouse Lutheran Cemetery with Rev. Michael Wright officiating.
