Nellie Fraley

June 7, 1925 — October 16, 2017

Nellie M. Fraley, 92, of Oakland went to be with her Lord on Monday, October 16, 2017, at the Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  Born on June 7, 1925, in Hutton, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Iva (Howdershelt) Kisner. She was veteran of the United States Army Air Corps having served during World War II.  Nellie was an evangelist who had earned her PhD in theology and had also worked as an investigator for the Department of Social Services.  She is survived by her children, John Landis, Sr. and wife Mary Jo of Westminster and their children, Andrea and John Jr., Joseph Dever, Sr. and wife Gail of FL and their children, Joseph, Jr., Mark and Lois, Georgetta Wasden of Tampa, FL and her children, Deana and Jason, and Matthew Dever and wife Renee of Oakland and their children, Sarah and Cheri; numerous great grandchildren; and two sisters, Geneva Connors of Morgantown and Amy Cortilly of MA.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, John Landis, George Dever and Don Fraley; and numerous siblings.  Friends will be received at the C & S FREDLOCK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Friday, October 20th from 2 to 3 PM after which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Pat Malone officiating.  Military honors will be accorded by the United States Army and the combined honor guard of the American Legion Post #71 and the Deer Park VFW #10077.  Interment will be in the Rocky Gap Veteran's Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS  66675.
