Naomi Ruth (Cannon) Holler, 91, of Oakland, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2020, at Dennett Road Manor. Born on March 9, 1929, in Pierce, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Floyd H. and Pearl G. (Welch) Cannon.
Naomi worked for 47 years as a cashier at Browning's Foodland, which is now Shop & Save, from which she retired in August 2017. Her co-workers, Rick, Donnette, Cheryl, Mary, Bev and Missie and the customers were like family to her, and she loved them very dearly. She was an active member of Crellin United Brethren in Christ Church in Crellin for many years. Naomi was the best fan and critic of her grandchildren in the sports they played; she loved to attend any and all sporting events but her passion was basketball which she played in her high school days. She loved to read and be outdoors.
Naomi is survived by her children, Charlene Browning and husband Jamie of St. Petersburg Beach, FL, Jenny Wotring and partner Jim Miller of Oakland, and Daniel Holler and wife Debbie of Oakland; grandchildren, which were her pride and joy to watch grow up, Christie Browning Duran and husband Matt of Fort Collins, CO, Cherie Browning of Oak Island, NC, Seth Holler of Morgantown, WV, and Laina Holler of Oakland; great grandchildren, Jonah, Naomi, Isaac and Abby Duran of Fort Collins, CO, and Roman and Luke Dilgard of Oak Island, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Clifford Charles Holler, on June 21,1970. She was the last of her immediate family to pass, being preceded in death by her siblings, Harold Cannon, Alberta Grim, Bernice Sebold and Denzil Cannon.
Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Tuesday, September 22, 2020, from 4 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at 11 AM with Pastor Ed Calhoun officiating. Interment will be held in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
