Nancy N. Schrock, 53, of Oakland passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family. She fought a courageous battle with cancer for over two years. Born on November 25, 1963 in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Norman N. and Lena S. (Yoder) Schrock. She was also preceded in death by a great niece and a number of aunts and uncles. Nancy is survived by two sisters, Abbie, married to Joseph R. Kauffman of Bedford, PA and Emma at home; five brothers, Raymond and Barbara (Hershberger) Schrock of Greenville, TN, Ezra and Ruth (Peachey) Schrock, Evan and Viola (Beachy) Schrock, Albert and Lois (Peachey) Schrock and Edward Schrock, all of Oakland; five nieces; eighteen nephews; and twenty-seven great nieces and nephews; an uncle, Simon Schrock of Catlett, VA; and numerous cousins. Nancy accepted Jesus in her youth and was baptized upon the confession of her faith and was a member of the Gortner Amish Church. She was a Sunday school teacher for 14 years and enjoyed teaching the children. She was a part-owner and manager of the Lynndale Greenhouse and enjoyed her job of growing flowers and plants of all kinds. She was a long-time vendor of the Mountain Fresh Produce Market. Friends and family will be welcomed at the Gortner Amish Church, 3271 Mason School Road, Oakland on Thursday, February 2nd from 7 to 9 PM and on Friday, February 3rd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A funeral service will be held in the church on Saturday, February 4th at 10 AM with Bishop Alvin Beachy officiating. Interment will follow in the Gortner Amish Cemetery. Pallbearers are Philip Schrock, Andrew Schrock, Kenneth Schrock, Nathaniel Schrock, Timothy Schrock and Gerald Kauffman. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Garrett County, PO Box 271, Oakland, MD 21550. The C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., Oakland has assisted the family with arrangements.
