Nancy Florence Kight, 88, of Oakland went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at her home. Born on December 19, 1928, in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Grace V. (Teets) Denison. Nancy had grown up in Newton, Mass., outside of Boston, where her father had been an executive for the Hoover Company. She had studied at Potomac State College. She attended the Mtn. Lake Independent Baptist Church and had been a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. In her younger days, Nancy had been active and volunteered for many local organizations and clubs. In addition to spending time with her family, she enjoyed playing bridge with a group of good friends, traveling, and tending to her garden and flowers, especially roses. Nancy will be lovingly remembered for her strong faith and the way in which she cared for her family. She is survived by her devoted husband of 69 years, Thomas D. Kight; three children, Thomas T. Kight of Westminster, Deborah Hinebaugh and husband Harry W. Hinebaugh, III, DDS of Media, PA and Frank Kight and wife Susanne of Oakland; grandchildren, Thomas P. Kight, Anne Eunson, DMD, Daniel Kight and Andrew Kight; one great granddaughter, Grace Eunson; and a number of special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Friends will be received at the C & S FREDLOCK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Thursday, August 24th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Mtn. Lake Independent Baptist Church, 1005 Broad Ford Rd., Oakland on Friday, August 25th at 11 AM. Interment will follow in the Aurora Cemetery, Aurora, WV. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Garrett County, PO Box 271, Oakland, MD 21550.
