Nancy Dawson Bolden, 94, of Chevy Chase, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2020. Born on September 30, 1925, in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Ursula McIntire Dawson. Nancy was a graduate of Oakland High School and earned a bachelor of arts degree in English from Western Maryland College in Westminster, Maryland. Nancy worked in the banking industry and for her family business, McIntire Hardware. She was semi-retired when she accepted an administrative assistant position with Beaty Haynes and Associates where she continued to work for 17 years. Nancy was an active member of Chevy Chase United Methodist Church. She loved nature and animals, especially dogs. She enjoyed a good British mystery on TV, was an avid reader, and could devour a novel within hours. For over 30 years Nancy enjoyed spring and fall road trips with her girlfriends to New York City to enjoy Broadway shows.
Nancy is survived by her sons, Emroy D." Skipp" Bolden of Chevy Chase and Jeffries D. Bolden and wife Sue of Arbutus.
Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P. A., 21 N. 2nd St., Oakland on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 from 10-11 AM at which time a funeral service will be held with Rev. Dr. Matthew Paugh officiating. Interment will be held in Oakland Cemetery.
