Mildred Meyer

Mildred (Schrock) Meyer, 90, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at her home at the Village at Heritage Point, Morgantown, WV.

Born November 5, 1919 in Aurora, WV, she was the daughter of the late Scott C. and Eula C. (Sell) Schrock. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Charles F. Meyer; three sisters: Veda Evans Schrock, Aurora, WV, Lenora Schrock, Oakland, MD and Eva Schrock Arnold, Terra Alta, WV and a cousin, David Schrock, Baltimore, MD.

Mildred graduated from Aurora High School and Fairmont State College, where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education. She retired in 1977 from the Garrett County, MD, School System with 31 years of service teaching at Kitzmiller, Oakland High and Southern High Schools.

She lived in Oakland for many years and was member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.

Also, surviving are nieces and nephews: Stephen and Susan Arnold, Morgantown, WV; Conrad and Analta Arnold, Trapp, MD; Angela and Dale Bowman, Eagle Rock, MO; Page Cline Schrock, Jr., Wadsworth, OH; Richard and Alice Schrock and Helen and Johnny Ferrell, all of Oakland, MD, Frederick Meyer, Susan Meyer, Herman "Buddy" and Anna Meyer all from San Antonia, TX..

Friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. 2nd Street, Oakland, Maryland, Friday, October 15, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

The funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 1 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 6 South Street, Oakland, MD, with the Rev. Dr. Scott Robinson officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland, MD.
