Michael Harvey

Michael Sims "Trapper" Harvey, 35 of Oakland, MD passed away Monday, July 26, 2010 at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Born July 18, 1975 in Cumberland, MD he was the son of John Sims Harvey and Rosemary (Cosner) Harvey of Oakand.

Mike is survived by his wife Heidi Jane (Savage) Harvey; two sons, Cody Sims Harvey, his "football buddy", Grant Lee Harvey, his "farming buddy" and one daughter Cheyenne Rose Harvey, his "baby girl".

He is also survived by two sisters, Rhonda Sweitzer and her husband S. Mike Sweitzer of Swanton and Johnna Wotring of White Church; nephews, Zachary Savage, Mathew Savage, Joshua Wotring, Michael Sweitzer and Stephen Sweitzer; nieces, Hannah Wotring, Ryelynn Sweitzer and Mariah Moon.

He is survived by his favorite mother-in-law Rita Savage and Father-in-law Ronald Savage of Swanton; favorite sister-in-law Misty Moon & husband Bernard Moon of Swanton.

Michael had a passion for hunting, fishing and watching his favorite college football team "Michigan" play. But his greatest passion was his family. Michael loved spending time with his children. He was a graduate of Southern High School, Class of 1993, was a farmer and was employed by G & S Coal Company.

The family will receive friends at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. Second St., Oakland, MD on Friday, July 30, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.

Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2010 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Neil Parsons officiating. The interment will follow in Harvey Wilson Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to college funds for his three children and mailed to WEPCO Federal Credit Union, P. O. Box 614, Oakland, MD 21550.
