Merle Masters

Merle Thomas Masters, 87, of Oakland, MD, passed away on March 22, 2023, at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital. Born on July 26, 1935, in Caldwell, WV, he was the son of the late Ottie Lawrence and Lorene (Howard) Masters.

He was the owner of Merles Auto Service and, after selling his business, he worked for NAPA Advanced Auto Parts, and drove for Enterprise and Team One. He attended St. Paul's United Methodist Church and was a member of the Split Shifters Classic Car Club. Merle loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Martha Louise (Friend) Masters; three children, Mike Masters of Columbus, OH, Thom Masters of Charlotte, NC, and Lisa Masters and husband Duane Mann of Glenn Bernie, MD; several grandchildren; and great grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 10 AM to 12 noon at C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. Second St. Oakland. A funeral service will be held at 12 PM in the funeral home with Pastor Marty Wilt officiating. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
