Melvin Paugh

Melvin Lewis Paugh, 83, of Swanton, MD, passed away Friday, February 24, 2012 at his home. Born March 6, 1928 in Vindex, MD, he was the son of the late Mabel Paugh and the grandson of the late Mary and John Paugh. He was also preceded in death by one grandson, Dylan Paugh. Melvin retired from Bethlehem Steel in Baltimore after 32 years, served as a Hunter Safety Instructor for 15 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Folley Run, Sportsmans and Castleman hunting clubs. Also, Melvin was a veteran having served in the United States Army and attended the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife of sixty-three and a half years, Elizabeth (Tichinel) Paugh; sons, Mel Eugene Paugh, WV and Lewis Ray Paugh and wife Rhonda, Baltimore; daughters, Linda June and husband Tom , Baltimore, Mary Lou Karwacki and husband Jim, Baltimore, Margie Tasker and husband Mike, Swanton and Melody Southern and husband Jim, Virginia Beach; a brother, Danny Tasker, Ohio; a sister, Myrtle Carr, MD; 12 grandchildren, Steven and Matthew June, Jennifer Gogolinski, Amy Karwacki, Brian and Michael Byrd, Winter and Keith Paugh, Lewis Ray Paugh Jr., Justin and Brandon Southern; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 710 Church St. , Kitzmiller, MD, on Sunday, February 26, 2012 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, February 27, 2012 at the Walnut Bottom Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Darrell Tichinel & Rev. George Tichinel officiating. Interment will be in the Turner Cemetery. A very special thanks and love to Grace and Mary from Hospice for being so good to my husband and our dad. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Hospice of Garrett County, PO Box 271, Oakland MD 21550, in memory of Melvin Lewis Paugh.
