Melvin Morris

Melvin Morris, Jr., 63, of Oakland, died on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at his home. Born on August 11, 1950 in Prestonsburg, KY, he was the son of the late Melvin, Sr. and Nell Ruth (Goble) Morris. He loved playing his guitar, painting, tinkering with and fixing cars, playing cards, listening to country music, and spending time with his grandkids and family. He is survived by a daughter, Denise Deal and husband Jim; son, Melvin Morris III and wife Tonya; grandchildren, Kelley, Chelsea, Kristen, Jimmy and Maddie Deal and JJ and Rachel Morris; a brother, Larry Morris; and a sister, Maude Frye. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon K. (Dials) Morris, in July of this year and two sisters, Madilynn Goble and Delores Lafferty. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2013 at 11 AM in the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland, MD with John Smithson officiating.
