Melvin Lamar Hertzog, 88 of Rodeo, California and Davis, WV died June 19, 2015 at his home in Davis. He was born March 16, 1927 in Mt. Carmel, PA a son of the late Robert Russell and Elizabeth Wilhelmina Yetski Hertzog.
Also preceding him in death were 1 brother, Robert Hertzog and 1 sister, Elizabeth (Hertzog) Demboski. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Carla (Ujcic) (Stickley) Hertzog, 2 daughters, Beth Williamson, Sacramento, CA, Melva and husband Ron Anima, San Jose, CA step-daughter, Pamela S. Stickley, Richmond, CA, 6 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Melvin was a US Army veteran. He was a retired operator for Chevron oil refinery in Richmond, CA. He was a member of OCAW union, former member of Moose Lodge 550 of San Pablo, CA, Contra Costa County ARC member, Chevron Retirees Association, East Bay Chapter, Pinole, CA, and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Davis, WV.
Friends will be received on Tuesday June 23 at Hinkle Funeral Home, 567 Thomas Ave., Davis, WV from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held June 24, 2015 at Hinkle Funeral Chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ruth Bullwinkle officiating. Interment will follow in the Davis Cemetery.
