Melvin G. Cullers, 62, of Aurora, WV died on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV. Born on July 15, 1952 in Petersburg, WV, he was a son of the late Melvin "Gorman" and Edna Violet (Davis) Cullers. He was a 1970 graduate of Petersburg High School and was a veteran of the United States Army Combat Infantry Division having served during the Vietnam War. Melvin then became a welder, working all over the east coast and for many years with the Buffalo Coal Company. He is survived by a son, Tory Cullers of Grand Fork, ND; a daughter, Cora Cullers of Oakland, MD; five grandchildren, Tray Hewitt, Jocelyn Cullers, Julian Cullers, Ava Cullers and Carter Cullers; two brothers, Roger Cullers of Scherr, WV and Harry Cullers and wife Marcia of Reading, MA; four sisters, Janet Barr and husband Harvey of Petersburg, WV, Marian Moreland of Hanover, PA, Betty Bolyard and husband Dayton of Eglon, WV and Becky Waldron and husband Gerald of Maysville, WV; a special great nephew, Jameson Bolyard, who held a special place in his heart and who spent a great deal of time with his "Granddaddy"; and a great many nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Cullers and two sisters, Helen Callis and Bonnie Cullers-Harsh. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Thursday, July 2nd from 5 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, July 3rd at 11 AM with Pastor J. Rogers Fike officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow in the Maysville Cemetery.
