Maxine Skipper

Maxine A. Skipper, 90, of Oakland died on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home. Born on August 25, 1922 in Clinton, MI, she was the daughter of the late Jessie Clark and Schrilla (Ault) Glotfelty. She attended Rocky Drean Assembly of God Church. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Groves of Oakland; a son, John Skipper and wife Kathy of Oakland; two sisters, Marie Brenneman of Accident and Katherine "Jane" Johnson and husband Harry of Kingwood, WV; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Skipper in 1989; a daughter, Ruth Warnick in 2007; and a son-in-law, Warren Groves in 2006. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Tuesday, May 14th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and at the Rocky Drean Assembly of God, Oakland on Wednesday, May 15 from 10 to 11 AM at which time a funeral service will be held with Rev. William C. Skipper officiating. Interment will follow in Garrett County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Maxine's honor to the Rocky Drean Assembly of God, 883 Bray School Road, Oakland, MD 21550 or to Hospice of Garrett County, P.O.
