Masako "Masa" Strubin, 94, of Oakland, died on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on July 6, 1929, in Tokyo, Japan, she was the daughter of the late Kunitaro and Toyo Saito,
Masa had been a machine operator for Moldcraft Machinery. She was a member of the Mary Browning Senior Center. Masa was passionate about her skincare, enjoyed gardening, origami, shopping, cooking, and going to the senior center with her friends. She especially loved spending time with her family, including playing cards with her grandkids.
She is survived by her children, Robert Strubin and wife Kristine of Hanover, PA, Patricia Bowman and husband Ray of Culpepper, VA, and Raymond Strubin and wife Debbie of Oakland, MD; grandchildren, Chad Strubin (Lila), Justine Strubin, Jacqueline Brock (Dillon), Jessica Holman (Benjamin), Jennifer Daniszewski, Tricia Kutrik (Matthew), Shelley Benhoff (Jason), Keri Harvey (Brian), Rusty Strubin (Erin), Lindsey Strubin (Joey), and Courtney Strubin (Bill); great grandchildren, Skylar, Hannah, Jack, Greta, Maeve, Dillon Jr., Samuel, Emma, Ella, Brooke, Emma, Chloe (Greg), Ryan, Bradley, Connor, Cas, Harper, and Bodie; a great great granddaughter, Nina; and siblings, Shigeru, Miyo, Kiyoshi, and Kazuko; as well as numerous family members in Japan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Richard George Strubin.
A funeral service will be held at the Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens in Lutherville Timonium, where she will be entombed with her late husband.
