Mary Virginia Crowl, 69, of Davis, passed away on February 1, 2024, at WVU United Hospital in Clarksburg. Born on November 5, 1954, in Charleston, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Wilma (Arnold) Melkus.
Mary attended Mountaineer High School. She enjoyed going to church at Davis United Methodist Church. She was a member of FOE #936 Ladies Auxiliary and a past member of the Rebekah's Lodge. Mary loved painting, cooking, baking and, most of all, spending time with her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are four children, Melissa Scott and husband Pete of Davis, Holly Canfield and husband Howard of Sugarlands, Michele Crowl and partner Tommy Cooper of Dryfork, and Freddy Crowl and wife Holly of New Creek; eleven grandchildren, Cody Cussins and wife Sierra, Jordan Delsignore, David Scott, Derek Scott, Alexis Markley and husband Timmy, Haley Cussins, Marcus Crowl, Ryan Delsignore and partner Katie, Kaili Crowl, Hannah Cussins, and Allison Cooper; two great grandchildren, Rylynn Delsignore and Racelynn Markley; four siblings, Karl Melkus and wife Katrina, Edward Melkus, Nancy Criniti and husband Elvin, and Cathy Martin and partner Paul; a sister in law, Linda Melkus; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two siblings, Thomas Melkus and Patricia Knotts.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 2 to 5 PM at the Davis Fire Hall, 610 William Avenue, Davis. Private interment will be in the Davis Cemetery.
