Mary "Rosalie" Snyder

Mary Rosalie Snyder, 100, of Davis, went home to be with her lord and savior on April 6, 2024, at Cortland Acres. Born on February 28, 1924, in Davis WV. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Edward and Gussie Mae (Wilson) Whisner.

Rosalie was a talented cook, baker, and homemaker. She was a lifetime member of the Davis United Methodist Church. She loved singing in the choir, attending Bible study and was a past board member for the church. She was a member of the Rebekahs Lodge, Eastern Star Parsons Chapter #91, and a past member of the Red Hat Society. Rosalie enjoyed tending to her flowers, crocheting, canning, reading, word search puzzles, studying her Bible, trips to the beach, and traveling abroad. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.

She is survived by nine children: Gussie Wilson and late husband Ed of Manasas, VA, Rosalie Winters and late husband Keith of Eglon, Linda Mierisch and husband George of Centreville, VA, Joyce Donofrio and late husband Jimmy of Fairmont, John Snyder and wife Connie of Mt. Storm, Joseph Snyder and wife Debi of Vance, AL, Marian Browning and husband Jim of Parsons, Sharon Biasatti and late husband Brian of Virginia Beach, VA, Karen Hamner and husband Steve of Bel Alton, MD; twenty five grandchildren; fifty great grandchildren, thirteen great great grandchildren; and a sister in law, Joan Snyder.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, George Terrant and second husband, Marion "Maunek" Snyder; Five siblings: Virginia, Edith, Irene, Roy, and Opal; Son in Laws: Ed Wilson, Larry Schoonmaker, Keith Winters, Jimmy Donofrio, Ron Hanlin and Brian Biasatti; and two granddaughters, Christina Evans and Heather Urban.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home, 567 Thomas Avenue, Davis. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM, in the funeral home with Rev. Neil Parsons officiating. Interment will follow in the Davis Cemetery.
