Mary Martha (Sebold) Miller, age 103, of Deer Park, MD passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at Oakland Nursing and Rehab Center in Oakland, MD. Mary was born May 5, 1918 in Deer Park. She was the daughter of the late William Michael and Martha Ellen (McGettigan) Sebold. Mary was the last of her immediate family to pass, being preceded in death by her siblings, Nelson, Olive, Wilmer, Ed, Genevieve "Jen" and James.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Carroll Ellis Miller. She is survived by her four sons, Carroll Edward Miller and wife Sandy of Richmond, VA, Thomas David Miller of Charleston, WV, Terry Lynn Miller and wife Nancy of Belington, WV and James William "Jim" Miller and partner Jenny Wotring of Oakland; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Mary grew up in Deer Park and attended St. Peter's Catholic School and graduated from Oakland High School. She went on to get a degree in business in Fairmont, WV. She and her late husband were the owners and operators of Carroll's Sport Shop and the Starlite Motel in Oakland. She had a love of bowling, traveling in their RV, playing cards with friends and watching her birds and wildlife at her home in Deer Park. Mary was a lifelong member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Oakland.
Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 208 S 4th St., Oakland on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Fr. Tom Gills officiating. Interment will be held in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
