Mary Lewis

Mary Bell (Keefer) Lewis, 82, of Oakland, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018 at her home.  Born on October 4, 1936 in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late George and Darlie (Park) Keefer.  Mary was a homemaker and Pentecostal by faith.  Her hobbies included gardening, canning and making rugs on her loom.  Mary’s pride and joy was her family who she loved spending time with.  Everyone was always welcome at Mary’s home.  She cooked and cared for all the neighborhood children.  She was “Mom” to all.  Mary is survived by her children, Darlie Stoneking and husband William of Waverly WV, Bonnie Berkeridge of Morgantown, Tammi Cowgill and husband David of Cumberland, James Lewis and wife Linda of Oakland, Charlie Lewis and wife Norma of Oakland, Pamela McRobie of Oakland, Jeffery Lewis and wife Pamela of Corinth; 23 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; four siblings, Harold Keefer of Baltimore, Garnet Wright of Cumberland, Violet Moreland and husband Alvin of Charlestown and Betty Lantz of Oakland.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Gladys Snyder, Alice Shrout and Erma Davy.  Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2ndSt., Oakland on Monday, October 8, 2018 from 3-8 PM and on Tuesday, October 9 from 10-11 AM at which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Russell Liller officiating.  Interment will be held in Keefer Cemetery.  Mary’s family would like to thank Hospice of Garrett County, Chay Crosser and Dr. Welik for the wonderful care given to Mary.  Memorial contributions may be made to Mary’s family or to Hospice of Garrett County, PO Box 271, Oakland, MD 21550.  www.csfredlockfh.com
