Mary Evans

Mary Virginia Evans, 93, formerly of Mt. Storm, WV died on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home, Oakland. Born on June 9, 1922 in Deer Park, she was the daughter of the late George T. and Bertha B. (Boyce) Barnard. She was a graduate of the Kitzmiller High School Class of 1942. Mary was a Homemaker and Methodist by faith. She enjoyed gardening, embroidering, and working on word searches. Most of all, her children and grandchildren were her life. She is survived by five daughters; Joyce Warnick, Eloise Tasker, both of Oakland, Mildred Taylor and husband Leslie, Mt. Storm, Nedra Tucker and husband Gary, and Sue Evans, both of Terra Alta; two sons, Jim Evans and wife Rosalee, of Oakland, and William Evans and wife Linda, of Kitzmiller; twenty-one grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren; a brother, George Barnard, and a special friend, Ruby Harvey. In addition to her parents, she was preceeded in death by her husband, Herbert W. Evans; two sisters, Eula Evans, Elsie Miller; three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and three sons in law. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt Thank You to Mary's caregivers throughout her stay at Dennett Road. Friends and family will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 710 Church St., Kitzmiller, on Sunday, January 31, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, February 1, 2016 at 11 AM with Pastor Barbara Rexroad officiating. Interment will follow in the Kalbaugh Cemetery, Elk Garden. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorial contributions be made to the Allegheny Mountain Top Public Library, 8455 Union Hwy., Mt. Storm, WV 26739 or the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home Activities Department, 1113 Mary Drive, Oakland, MD 21550.
