Mary Davis

Mary S. "Sue" Beckman Davis, 77 of Swanton, Md and Frostburg Village Nursing Home, who took great care of her, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 24, 2010, surrounded by her daughter, daughter-in-law & four grandchildren.

Born February 19, 1933 in Garrett County, she was the daughter of the late George and Florence (Friend) Beckman. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, 2 sisters, a very special friend "Old Pappy" William Davis, and a very special daughter-in-law Rhoda.

Sue worked at the sewing factory, Bausch & Lomb and at Beaver Flat Restaurant were she enjoyed what she did best, cooking and talking to her friends. She worked hard on the farm and taking care of her family. She was a loving, caring wife, mother and friend to all. She was Lesia's mother and best friend who will miss her dearly.

Surviving are her husband, Howard Davis of Swanton; five sons, Guy Edward Davis and wife Debra of Swanton, Michael Owen Davis and wife Myla of Michigan, Joseph Henry Davis of Swanton, Douglas Eugene Davis and wife Barb of Swanton, Andrew Dale Davis and wife Rebecca of Swanton; two daughters, Leora Jean Davis of Rio, WV, Lesia Louise Crawford & husband Clint of Maysville, WV; one sister, Norma Hargrove & husband Lee of Florida; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 710 Church St., Kitzmiller, MD on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.

Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2010 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Larry Shrout officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
