Mary Brode

Mary Anne (Glotfelty) Brode, 51, of Cumberland died on Thursday, January 1, 2015. Born on November 10, 1963 in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Willis Junior Glotfelty, Jr. and Mary Jane (Rhodes) Glotfelty. Mary had worked as a CNA for Hospice of Garrett County and, in her earlier years, worked at a local radio station alongside her mother. She was a member of the Loch Lynn Church of God. Mary greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband of almost two years, Franklin D. Brode; three sons, Darwin Bennett, Shawn Bennett and Derek Bennett, all of Garrett County; a sister, Sandra Fitzwater of NC; five brothers, Curtis Glotfelty of Terra Alta, WV, Dale Glotfelty, Mike Glotfelty, Willis Glotfelty and Tim Glotelty, all of Garrett County; her former husband and friend, Ed Bennett; two aunts, Janet Mae Tichnell and Mary Ellen Rodeheaver; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Sunday, January 4th from 1 to 5 PM. A funeral service will be held at the Loch Lynn Church of God, 8649 Gorman Rd., Oakland on Monday, January 5th at 11 AM with Pastors Ivan and Cindy Ackerman officiating. Interment will follow in the Deer Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Garrett County, PO Box 271, Oakland, MD 21550.
