Martha Short

Martha Louise Short, 75, of Oakland and formerly of Terra Alta, WV died on Monday, April 25, 2016, at the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home. Born on December 8, 1940 in Benbush, WV, she was the daughter of the late Clarence G. and Sylvia B. (Shambaugh) Paugh. She was a graduate of Victory High School in Clarksburg, WV. While living in Columbus, OH for many numerous years, she worked as a printer for the Columbus Tag Company. She is survived by two sisters, Sharon Sims of Petersburg,WV and Rachel Bonner of Bayard,WV; a brother, Mervin Paugh and wife Georgeanna of Brooklyn, NY; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Short, Sr., in 1980; a son, William H. Short, Jr.; two sisters, Gloria Sisler and Iris Whitehair; and a brother, Clarence Paugh, Jr. According to her wishes, Martha has been cremated and private interment will take place in Rose Hill Cemetery, Thomas, WV. The C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., Oakland is assisting the family with arrangements.
